- Where major joint movement may occur apply allow to dry and apply a coat of Liquid Rubber. Embed a reinforcing scrim bandage across the joint ensuring to press out any wrinkles or bubbles. Treat right angles between horizontal and vertical surfaces similarly.
Application
Always perform a test on a small inconspicuous area to ensure compatibility, and we recommend following the manufacturer's instructions found on the tin.
- Stir well before and during use, do not dilute.
- Each coat should not be less than 0.5mm and should not exceed 1mm in thickness. Build up areas where ponding is likely to occur with additional coats.
- Mark out the area into square metre areas and pour out the appropriate amount of Liquid Rubber at a rate of half a litre per square metre for a 0.5mm coat.
- Spread evenly across the area using a brush, ensure not to overspread.
- Allow to dry for 12-24 hours and apply a second coat within 24 hours to ensure the chemical bonding between the two coats.
- Allow 14 days before applying any water based treatments such as emulsion paints.
The colour of the coating may begin to grey with time but this does not affect the performance.
